I’m so glad your ablation worked. I had an ablation in January and it turns out I was in the 5% failure rate. My surgery actually went badly and I have my? second ablation April first. I can relate to how nervous you were. I’m 15 years old and my heart rate gets up to 300+ beats a minute.

Zoron Smegmish says:

I was awake for it and it (honest) wasn’t bad. They were worried they hadn’t taken care of it but when I was in recovery the Nurse told me my ecg was “perfect” and I don’t have all that misbeating at night that was? keeping me awake.

April Oleson says:

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for posting this video. I am having a cardiac ablation surgery? this summer and I am absolutely scared out of my mind. Watching your video has calmed my nerves a bit. I greatly appreciate it!

This is the first time I have commented on a video. I had an ablation on 3-1-13 for my AFib diagnosed in October. Meds controlled it until early January. After a second cardioversion and a second med not working, I met with a specialist to have the procedure. Being a professor & researcher, I kept looking up information. Your simple message of not focusing on those things and thinking about how this is a fix helped me. Still worried? as I recover, but you have helped me greatly. Thank you!

@MrTotalplayer999 Its really good that you’re doing research beforehand. Radio frequency ablation is the same as a catheter ablation. No difference, other then term. I had the? ablation for a condition known as AVNRT which is a form of SVT. It’s been over a year and I have been cured. I do however experience little bumps and skips but that’s just me. It doesn’t pose any danger nor does it effect my quality of life. All in all though I have been 100% cured of my arrythmia.

MrTotalplayer999 says:

Does this procedure completely cure? your heart problem which is SVT I think? It has been a year since you had the operation. Are you still experiencing irregular hearbeat? I will have this operation (my is called radiofrequency ablation) in April and am trying to learn as much as I can about it.. Thank you in advance for your response.

bluemoney1928 says:

You are so very welcome. If you even need to talk or ask any questions just message? me 🙂

I cannot thank you enough for your video. I am waiting for an appointment to meet with a specialist to discuss and arrange having a catheter ablation and since I found out that I was going to have it done, I have been a nervous wreck. I have lived with palpitations and extra beats for just over a year and it felt so glad to know that I am not alone in feeling scared to do things because of it. What you say about the procedure itself has put my mind at? ease. Thank you SO much for your video! xx

My main problem was my own anxiety. I was in tears and trembly pre- and post-procedure, and they gave me sedatives earlier because of this, and more afterwards, plus anxiety medication. It worked out, and I wanted you and others to know. I’m feeling pretty good, 5 days afterwards. The thing I’m most thankful for: having my spouse there in the hospital with me the? entire time.

1maui2man619 says:

I got through my procedure alright. You are right. Although I was also scared out of my mind, the procedure seems very safe, controlled, even routine, and it was not a huge physical challenge to me. The most challenging part was lying still on my back (which is not comfortable for my back) for several hours post-procedure.I was totally asleep during the entire procedure (6 hrs). I now know that the length and recovering period may depend on the length of? the procedure.

bluemoney1928 says:

I would consider it, I just need? to know what kind of things I said on my video that may scare her. It worries me cause I just don’t want to say the wrong thing to her 🙂 Could you let me know?

Maria Dorado says:

I have a 7 yr old little girl who is scheduled for an ablation as had svt since birth and has had several visits to the hospital and now she is afraid when doing regular things that a 7 yr old should be doing! She really wants to talk to someone because she tells ,me it will make her feel better. I find ur video perfect but I think a few of the things? u mention might scare her if she watches it all so I’m asking a huge four from you – would u consider a Skype meeting with her

Maria Dorado says:

Hi, ur video was? exact

1maui2man619 says:

Thanks for your? reply. It really helps. I’m happy for you that you are feeling good now. I will report back.

bluemoney1928 says:

I know you’re scared and its ok. It natural. I truly felt the same way, only I was afraid of leaving behind my mother and my husband. I’m telling you though, this procedure has been done and redone and they know what they are doing. Everything is? going to be just fine 🙂 Just tell them when you are going back that you want to sleep through it. The anesthesiologist are great at making sure you do. Good luck and let us know how you are doing. Ive been cured for a whole year! 🙂

1maui2man619 says:

I go in one week from tomorrow, and the closer it gets, the more on edge I become. I am scared about waking up and being freaked out? during the “conscious sedation,” plus, I can’t bear the possibility of my little son losing me. Yes, I am scared to death. Hearing your bravery and positivity helps though. I hope you are cured and remain that way.

bluemoney1928 says:

So glad I did and congrats on the good results! Welcome to the new? improved life!

bluemoney1928 says:

Youre so very welcome! When is ur? procedure?

1maui2man619 says:

Thank you for? posting this. It means a lot to me, pre-procedure.

alternatives on taking coumodin of people with Atrial Fibrillation heart beats.?

Jon Ciano says:

It wasn’t a bad recovery either. Some soreness and bruising but very tolerable. Thanks? for checking up on me and thanks for making me feel better before the procedure.

Jon Ciano says:

It went great! I would recommend it to anyone. I have not had a single palpitation since. I will admit, I did wake up during the procedure and was actually in pain. It was the strangest thing. I woke up and my heart was racing from the doctor inducing the palpitation. I then felt a shooting pain across my? chest. I said,”that really hurts.” The doctor said, “It’s just the catheter, stop moving.” and before you know it, I was out again.

bluemoney1928 says:

I am happy to help. How did your? ablation go?

bluemoney1928 says:

Thank you so much for your comment. It makes me? happy I did the video. How did your ablation go?

bluemoney1928 says:

Sorry for the delay in response.? How did your procedure go? Was it successful?

bluemoney1928 says:

So? glad to hear! Congrats!

bluemoney1928 says:

Im so sorry to hear that they couldn’t cure it but I’m glad it still? benefited you in a way that they could find new options. Good luck in the future!

bluemoney1928 says:

I? really hope you got some help. Did you get scheduled for an ablation?

bluemoney1928 says:

Hi Jon, how did? your procedure go?

bluemoney1928 says:

Im not really? sure of your question. I know the blood thinner you are speaking of but I wasn’t prescribed that med for this procedure so Im not sure how well it works but I have heard good things about it.

bluemoney1928 says:

Hi Patricia, Im so glad this video helped you and just know that you are making the right? decision. Its going to be ok and you will feel so much better. Good luck 🙂

Patricia L says:

Thanks for the video! I have? been considering having the ablation for the past week and think I have finally decided to get the ablation after seeing your video. I’m still scared to death, but I’m excited for the freedom I will get after the procedure. Thank you.

Cierra Johnson says:

anyway you could contact my email adress please Johncier@yahoo.com or add me on facebook …i need your? advice asap! thank u

Dalmato1000 says:

my father takes blood thinners like coumodin and he just got a stroke for? the first time..i dont want him to take these drugs like coumodin because of the side effects…does it work for you ? ABLATION?

Jon Ciano says:

Thank you for posting this. I am scheduled to have mine done on January 4th? and am nervous as I am sure you remember well. Not freaking out but concerned about the “what if’s” you know?

Stacy West-Bruce says:

Thank you for this! I have dealt? with tachychardia since I was 19 (17 years). I’m wearing an event monitor now and may also be getting an ablation. I’m nervous, but almost hoping to have the procedure so I can be medication free and have the problem finally corrected.

Shandy Melson says:

Thank you for sharing your experience. I had the procedure done today. They could not induce the arrhythmia, so the ablation was not completed, but the EP study and the procedure in its entirety revealed that my heart is hyper-sensitive to adrenaline. So, they were not able to “cure” the arrythmia. However, I only ever experienced the SVT once earlier this year, with severe symptoms. This new information gained from? the procedure today allows my doctor and I to pursue new options. Thank you!

Zoron Smegmish says:

Just a quick thank? you for doing the Video for Ablation. I had mine yesterday and everything went great.

mylampisbright says:

i just found out today i have WPW? syndrome! and i have to have this! and im briccking it!

sharon erring says:

Hello!? I just wanted to say thank you! I am going for an Ablation… I have been on Med for 17 months, and I still have Problems…We need more videos like this one! God Bless you!

giblet387 says:

Thanks for the post about Ablation. I’m having mine in Mid November. There is not much about this on the web. *Other then the rare one that? goes bad. Anyway – Thanks for your video its a good one to “unscare” a person.

Marie Broussard says:

Not? worry about I meant

Marie Broussard says:

You video is very helpful because this really is scary for me and I? am having the procedure this friday but honestly it is hard to worry about but thanks for making this video it really does help.

hal4feathers says:

Ok? got it thanks!

hal4feathers says:

Thank you for responding! I am calling my doctor tomorrow to make an appointment to discuss any questions I have and then I am going to schedule it. I know that I would prefer this over life long medication that may or? may not work. Just the thought of having my heart worked on is tough, but also not doing anything is I think worse. Thank you for understanding, I wish I could give you my email so we didn’t have to post on here but since YouTube doesn’t have private messaging this will do 🙂

bluemoney1928 says:

Good luck! It will be worth it 🙂 Hope you and your family are doing well? 🙂

bluemoney1928 says:

I havent had any problems since January other than the occasional skipped beats here and there. But it sure beats having frightening experiences with your heart. I can tell you this much. If I was to have to have the procedure done again tomorrow the only thing I would be stressing about it making sure? I bring my Kindle to have something to do afterwards 🙂 I know it makes it easier to have someone to talk to so please know that I will be here to answer any questions you have. Any time 🙂
