Billy Drake’s chronic atrial fibrillation (a-fib) made him tired so often that he was missing out on the activities he used to enjoy with his 12 and 13-year-old children. The Bucksport, Maine resident tried different treatments to normalize his heart rhythm but with no success. At a friend’s suggestion, he turned to Maine Medical Center Cardiovascular Institute, where Billy learned about a new treatment, called the Convergent Procedure, performed by a cardiothoracic surgeon and a cardiologist who specializes in arrhythmias.
